Found a great way to combine 6 years of rc flying experience with Video production

I have been getting in some practise with a Camera on a multicopter

- shame i didnt have any actors / talent to work with ! And the stupid grin means i am having fun...

Having a camera on board really makes you think about flying precision lines and patterns - which really adds some extra intrigue into the flying experience.

going to be great for low wind 3d camera moves- and product shots on big things.

I dont reckon we are too far off having a multicopter able to follow a windsurfer via a solo shot style tracker to get some great heli style footage without all the expense and drama that full size helis bring with them.

Nice one Matt,

I was looking at one of the AR Drone foamy copters, but thought they might be a bit wobbly,

Nice flying,

Would work a treat with a bit of point break SUP or surf action

Seen some great footage from them, since it doesn't have a clear nose and tail does it get confusing to fly?

Hi Matt great minds think alike
I've been playing with one but been struggling with the PDI settings
I got a MultiWii flight controller with Gps from HK but I am beginning to think its a bit buggy flys perfect in winds under five Knots but over that gets a random wobble to crash.
Meet a really nice dude in Mandurah and he was flying well in 25 knots +

definitely gets tricky once its a ways out from you.
luckily there is a mode on mine called intelligent orientation control - flick it into that mode and pull back on left stick - whichever way its facing it will come straight back to you - requires on board GPS though.

FPV (via goggles) is the best way to fly as you are in the cockpit and can frame up the camera as you like on the fly - you see what the camera sees. I am a way off from that set up yet though...

Here are some quick pics i took of a very large shed on a farm - took me 3 minutes to get the quad in the air and bang out some shots - go pro on interval mode
