Any good woodworking supply place should be able to find the knife thread screw insert things for you.. especially if you take them a picture. Bunnings are pretty useless here - unless you find one of the older guys who has some imagination and enthusiasm left.

You could also try these guys: http://www.carbatec.com.au/store/store_select.php I couldn't find anything in their online catalogue, but they have a store in perth, so might be worth a call or visit. They seem to have just about everything for working with wood.

If not, how about visiting your local aluminium dealer and having a scrounge in their scrap bin for a length of rectangular box section. Bolt it through the existing holes in the deck, and then bolt your mast base onto the top by poking a nut down the inside of the box..

Just re-looking at the pic you posted earlier, the screw thread things might bang into the top of your trucks, so you may be best to look at mounting something on the top rather than drilling through the deck.

well i take back what i said jordo, that looks pretty good, how did you get the thingo that the mast base screw screws into (the square thing) to stay there? glue? please explain haha i thikn you're onto something. I like things where i can just go out into my workshop and grab a bit of wood and not have to go anywhere, but 555 thaks for the suggestions maybe someone knows for shure where i could get these things?

That was basically how I did my first one, only instead of drilling a nut into the bottom of it, I used one of those fancy threaded things. Glueing a nut into the hole is a great plan.

I reckon make up a Jordapter, only don't drill the four holes, instead use nice long wood screws up from under the deck through the bolt holes.

Just have to make sure that the wood is at least as thick as the bolt on the bottom of the mastfoot, pretty it up with a belt sander or something and go sailing.
