Just wondering how our windsurfing cohorts from KI are doing in the bushfires. ???? This is the view from over here looking towards Kangaroo Island burning behind Cape Jervis.
A few years ago there where large bush fires at Lano They where so intense they created a seabreaze of about 25knts ...realy eerie though the glare was this gold colour and the sky was a redish brown...
Nice pics susie - Hope their getting on OK - I was in the Hospital where I work and when the change came through we thought we were on fire - and thats 12 k's from Adelaide - the whole city is hazey and stinks - those poor Buggers have been in it for a week or more.
Hey Susie - been sailin the flat lands around Kingston park etc - It's been good last weekend and Tuesday. - Forgot me harness on Sunday and had to borrow one of Fletch - nothing like squeezing 90Kg's of belly into a skinny 65k wringing wet sailors old harness.
Theres gonna be some wind over the next few days - hopefully sthly enough to sail Uturns or something - maybe Kent tomorrow.
Yeah, the wind turned south westerly and all that smoke blew in. THAT was eerie. But I didn't care cos it was WIND. But yeah, where are you Kangaroo Islanders?????
yea were still alive!! only just. i have some beetter photos too! so crazy. i take my hat off to all the fire fighters!!! half the island is now burnt to a crisp! its going to take ages to get all its beauty back! but is suppose itsjust part of nature! ihave bailied off the island and am keen to get out with fellow windusrfers over here! lets just prey for no more fires! and a **** load of wind!!! peace.

oh**** yea mate! rain wouldbe the best ever!!! HEY HEY!i can cook a barby!!! even if u fully incinerate all the meat im fairsure it wouldnt make this much smoke!!! wehad bigchunks of ash at our house and we live about 40k's away!!! any way i willpost a map of how much of the island is burnt! it will amaze u!

Was good to sail with you Chris. Easterlies are my absolute favourite at Sellicks, especially the rattlers. I will post some piccys Kym took soon.
