"Jason Polakow has become the first windsurfer to ride the big wave of Nazar?, in Portugal. The Australian wave sailor has finally fulfilled his longtime dream of riding a windsurf board on the monstrous liquid cliffs of Praia do Norte, the spot usually reserved for surfing, bodyboarding and, more recently, skimboarding.Polakow rode 43-foot waves (13 meters) after carefully studying and preparing the adventure in the last 12 months."I've surfed all the big waves around the world and I must say that for me, Nazar? has been the most difficult and challenging. The waves are coming from many different angles at the same time, making it extremely difficult to judge and be safe," explained Jason Polakow."Water safety was my main concern, so having the two most experienced surfers - Andrew Cotton and Hugo Vau - taking care of me, and George Leal communicating with the water safety crew, I was feeling confident."

Just caught my eye this morning when I was walking out the door - couldn't believe that they were showing windsurfing on TV let alone JP!

Good to see Chanel 7 had a lot of good words to say about JP and for showing his success at Naza!

Well done JP and channel 7!

Lately I've been thinking about all these current so-called extreme stunts ...

I guess anybody can walk the highwire,,,

when there's a safety net stretched-out below to catch them.

I'm in awe of those past dudes from yesteryear who explored virgin territory ... on their lonesome.

Brave.

Wow JP you legend!! That place looks so dangerous with the random peaks and nearby cliffs.
This sort of thing really puts windsurfing on the map.
