The only time i can think of where windsurfing amongst a few 'white pointers' would be good

Great memories there for me..Suzan Gedaloo and Dana Dawes..Can opener boards and fat head sails...and also the white pionters......all good..imo.

One of the reasons why windsurfing was popular in the 80s. We need more fun videos like this rather than ones of guys sailing massive waves to generic heavy metal sound tracks.

Yep, looks windsurfing was great in the 80's, seems to have been a slow and steady decline since then, kind of sad really.

Kiting definitely has more ladies participating, it's easier to learn and less physically demanding when learning (and later on).

I could put a cheap shot in there, but I personally think it's great getting the Ladies out on the water

Kiting definitely has more ladies participating, it's easier to learn and less physically demanding when learning (and later on).

It would be greater if they got out on the water topless.

AIDS was around it the 80s, from the early 80s it was well known. Dunno about simpler days. Back then we lived under the threat of full scale nuclear war.

I reckon there are more females windsurfing now than there were in the 90s so perhaps we are on an upward trend.

I be happy with just topless, kiting windsurfing or anything, Here in north QLD girls wear boardies over their bikinis

I found windsurfing was a much more mixed sport in the early 80's. Most guys' GF would join in, etc. Ironic since equipment was way more difficult to handle then, huh?

The ratio declined starting a bit before the mid-80s. Probably because of fancier gear requiring more strength, the macho stuff, etc.

I find it's starting again, slowly, at least for inland (lakes, river) windsurfing. Not in waves. Until there are more women windsurfing, we're still stuck trying to steal the non-windsurfing girlfriends by the waterside...
