Just saw a show on foxtel called Sharkman. It was about a guy who discovered it was possible in some circumstances to hypnotise sharks.

Sharkman introduces viewers to Michael Rutzman who claims he can communicate with the world's wildest predator - the Great White who he says are smart and sensitive

Apparently they are so sensitive that a gentle stroke of their bodies turns them on!

Scene 1
Sharkman is in the tropics jumps in with the tiger sharks, remains calm and floats around with them. A 12 foot female gets interested in him and approaches, he places both hands on it's head and gently caresses, then moves hands to cover sharks eyes. Tiger shark then goes tonic (Catatonic, hypnotised). Sharkman keeps sharks eyes covered and they both drift slowly to the bottom

Scene 2
Sharkman is back home in South Africa, mentions that it's still a couple of weeks till the seal season so the sharks are placid. Jumps in the water with a 10 foot female GW. He then floats in the water, shark becomes interested and checks him out, he reaches out and gives her a tummy rub, shark likes it and comes back for more. After a few more pats and a bit of a cuddle 10 footer leaves, then out of the depths comes a 15 foot female GW.
Sharkman stays a calm and decides this one is also a 'player'.
GW comes and checks out sharkman he reaches out and gives her a rub, she likes it ! After a few more pats sharkman grabs dorsal fin of GW has a 50 metre ride on the back of the shark !!!

Yeah I watched it also. Amazing show. At one stage he had over 8 BIG white pointers in the water around him. Scary stuff. It was amazing how the littler sharks preffered his touch, than bait several feet away.
Monster are those Mako sharks? And are they tasty?

Yeah Bazz, I can see where you gently caressed them just behind their heads

so, if we have sexual relations with the sharks......they wont try to "eat" us ???
