New to me Ezzy Lion 6.5 wants 430 mast.
I got no 430 mast and want to try the sail if conditions arise.
With the 460 Ezzy mast i do have, I guess it is not really a question of good tuning, because all the tuning marks, indicators and measurements are way out the window. More so, will i break something? Am i wasting my time trying? Will i go so fast i break me?
With the head cap let out and mast poking about 7cm, and the minimum mast extension of 6cm, it appears to have a monstrous belly and very loose leech while the cams rotate very easily, more so than the 7.5 rigged *properly. Hmm. ![]()

I've got Ezzy Lions 6.5 & 7.5 year 2020 as well, same colours.
I had the 2016 sails as well. My 430 Unifiber mast felt a little too soft, so I tried the 460 Ezzy RDM in it to see what it was like. As you have found, it had a lot of belly. You can add a bit more outhaul. I found the sail powerful, but when a big gust hit it didnt twist off and spill the wind enough. It made sailing it a bit more physical. I later rigged it on a friend's 430 Tushingham and Duotone mast and it set as it should. So I bought an Ezzy 430 RDM.
I am 77kg, so if you a lot heavier you might appreciate the extra power and sailing it in stronger winds than I did it might twist off enough.
I would expect the 2020 sails to behave in the same way as the 2016 sails in this respect.
Phil i am only 77kg aswell.
Good to know you tried it and wasn't too bad.
Did you let the headcap out atall with 460?
It'll be fine. Just pull enough (more than you think) downhaul to reduce pocket and because mast won't flex as much. And don't be shy with the outhaul. The steadier the wind, the less of a problem.
