Im looking to upgrade my accessories box in which I keep all my bases, extensions, fins and a myriad of bits and pieces. I seemed to have a lot of stuff! I like keeping it all together as there is less chance of forgetting something in a rush to get to the beach.

I'm using a tough plastic recycling tub at the moment which I have fitted with some bunggy chords that can hold screw drivers, extensions etc around the sides. It woks but still gets a little messy and not really big enough of the long fins and extensions.

So I'm looking at a bigger tub, but if you have some neat solution or a better idea please let me know. I've used a gear bag in the past but they don't last long before the zippers corrode!

I have a 30L (?) cheapo Red Dot plastic box which fits a little toolbox about 25cm x 10cm x 10cm with tendons, bolts and screws, fin bolts, spare RDM adaptor, etc.

The rest of the box holds a Gath, extension, 2 UJ's and screwdrivers / pliers, about 2 or 3 spare downhauls, spare harness lines, sunscreen.

All my fins are in a NP fin bag (like a book with zipper around the edge) as it zips up flat so can stand on edge next to said box.

So whole thing is about 60cm x 35cm x 35cm and ready to go

I try to have only essentials or else it gets filled up with every spare I have, so last year I started a bits box at home so I didn't have 3 spare bases in the box at the beach, but no rope or tendon etc.

I have three plastic storage boxes / baskets I keep in the car.

The first basket has all my clothing - wetsuit, booties, harness, flotation vest, gloves rashie etc. After a session everything goes in there, gets taken inside to be rinsed and goes back in as soon as it is dry.

The second basket I take when I rig and unrig. It has the essentials - 2 extensions, UJ, 2 scewdrivers, most commonly used fins, easy downhaul gadget, gaffer tape, waterproof sheet to sit on when rigging, fin bolts and spare screws, vent plug etc.

The third box has things I might need but not often - less commonly used fins, spare ropes, out of season wetsuit, spare towel.
Superceded gear for spares is left at home.

An old milk crate, cost nothing, just need to shake the sand out every now and then

Likewise but I also put any wet gear ( rinsed with fresh water) inside a garbage bag before I put it in the tub. Less chance of drips getting into the car..

I like the bungee cord around the sides for holding stuff - top idea. I will be getting a bit of that going for sure.

i just chuck everything in the boot, sail and boom inside the car proper, and board on the roof. used ot use the plastic containers but the boot space is tight so the boot became my new plastic container.

i'm thinking there's more steel in my mast base than my car so rust shouldn't be an issue.

You never know when you need to be connected!!

The box also makes a handy storage for the repair kit!
