waikiki sucks !
goldcoast on steriods - crowded tons of traffic - ok if you want to hit the bars and restaurants.
if you wersingle it would probably be awesome :P
shopping is ok but a lot of it is boutique stuff and expensive.
spent 2 nights there and couldnt wait to get to maui.
will happily never stay there again.
in maui we generally stay in specksbeach estate.
unless you wife is prepared to sit around on a beach while you are out sailing find a place on the coast on north shore so you can sail from your front door. the hassle it saves from not having to pack a car full of gear and have a nagging wife wanting to go home is priceless.
spreks is 190 a night for a 1 bed studio or 300 for a 2 bed apart.
matt pritchard will deliver a board and 2 sail2 to your door step for about 300 a week.
will need to hire a car for maui.
Roar you are on the money.
I went on my first trip to Hawaii last year and am going back in mid April.
Waikiki is expensive.... Everything. It looks lovely at night. Great for shopping.
Maui is lovely. But you will need a car.
