Why aren't we sailing the Gold Coast in the light, offshore winds you get in the morning, like that?

Really nice weight transfer and use of the sail to drive up the wave. Why does it look so easy, make sense, and yet seems hard to put into practice?

Is this in regard to how light it is...because I don't actually think it's that light? Sure it's not 25kts but I reckon it's easily 15kts at times, you can see dudes on several occasions planing out into the face of waves.

No I wasn't refering to the wind strength-that's not relevant here I reckon. I was struck by how well he drove his board on the wave by really moving his body weight, using the sail as a lever to drive the nose forward. This is how he gets so much speed up while wave sailing, and contrasts with what you commononly see at wave sailing spots where many folks are weighed down at the back, turning from the tail, and consequently their turns don't flow, and they often run out of grunt climbing back up the wave before the next cutback. Having said that, it still isn't an easy thing to put into practice-especially when the waves are bumpy and/or onshore. That's why I was impressed by the sailing in the vid-he made the weight transfers look effortless and totally natural; which of course, ideally-they would be...
