If you want to find someone to put something extra special on the board have a look around the custom car forums for guys that do airbrush work on cars. It won't be cheap mind you, I would guess at about $400-500 or so for so board, but will certainly turn heads and be one of a kind.

Just remember when you graphic up a custom board, if you ding it... bye bye graffix.... prolly worth while putting the graffix away from high probability ding areas

Good point, I'll keep that in mind.

I found out that I guy I know is an airbrush artist! - mostly does motorcycles, but a board is no problem for him.

Now I need some ideas of what to get.... I'm not into flames/skulls and bikini lady's been waaay overdone.

I've had a bit of experience with this kind of thing in the past as a graphic artist and long-time sailboarder. A few years ago, a mate of mine - a surfboard-builder made me a custom fibreglass sailboard and he embedded the graphic in the glass. No problem. Just print the graphic on tracing paper - paper becomes invisible when the epoxy hits it and the graphic is protected. If your custom board is anything other than clear resin your options may be to screenprint directly onto the board or use either vinyl-cut graphics or solvent inkjet like they use for vehicle wraps. Either way is subject to the rigours of usage. But if you use vinyl, the design needs to consider the medium as there are limitations. You might also consider that graphics on a board can create a slippery patch if on the top deck and need to be under the non-slip surface.
