But effectively all you are doing with daylight savings is moving the clock. Something that was invented by man it's self the weather doesn't give a flying crap if we as humans say it's 3pm it doesn't care or know the difference time is only a period of exsistance that we as man follow

I think Chris Hill, from Albury, is right and so is Moby.

Every year, just after daylight savings starts the weather warms up significantly.
This can't be coincidence. (one or two years, maybe, but we're talking EVERY year!!)

It makes sense that if we get rid of daylight savings, the weather will stay cooler, there will be less moisture in the air and therefore less droughts.

I say a Royal Commission is needed.

makes sense. I wonder if they had a seabreeze before daylight savings.

Doesn't seem fair we have to pay the carbon tax in Qld if we don't have daylight savings

Well logically explain it then . You can move time around all you like can't you what direct connection is there between the two I'm not saying it doesn't exsist but think about it . If 3 becomes 4 how is this linked to weather

OK, I'll try and explain it.
You're right that if 3 becomes 4 it won't effect the weather much, because both times are in the afternoon and are hot and sunny.

The problem is later on when 6 becomes 7. There's your extra hour of hot weather that probably causes most of the drought problems.

Hang on. Isn't it because people can water their gardens earlier, and therefor they are going to use more water because they have more time before they go to work. So they're draining the dams faster.

Yah but they make up for by not watering their garden later in the day. Because with daylight savings what you loose in the morning you get back in the afternoon... Or was that the other way around?

Well my curtains have faded faster with all the extra daylight since it was introduced.

Also, it gets harder each year to milk the cows earlier in the day.

So it's time to bite the bullet and get rid of it!

This thread reminds me of a 'letter to the editor' from a local newspaper a few years ago. The writer was tired of the wind in the area, and mad because 'they' kept turning on the 'fans' all the time. The fans were the wind turbines at the nearby wind-farm that he could see turning from his house.

Unfortunately a true story

These fans probably adds to the drought since wind causes water to evaporate. Are there big fans in Albury?

From a local perspective, that's why Joh Bjelke-Petersen got elected (besides the obvious benefit he got from the gerrymander)

This makes no sense, everyone still blinks their eyes just as often so its dark every time they blink. That all adds up and will mean no matter what they do with the clocks there is still a period of darkness in the day -QED (google it Raggy)

I would say even better if we did the opposite, turn the clock one hour forward ! that would solve any global warming problems, who would need a carbon tax ?

of course what Chris Hill from Albury doesn't realise is that daylight savings means there are more hours of daylight each day. That means we have to use less electricity which in turn means less green house gas emission.

Perhaps what they should do is turn the clock forward 4 or 5 hours and we end up with more daylight hence solving the whole global warming issue.

What a dope. He obviously hasn't factored in all the solar collectors going on the roofs all over the place. They suck the heat right up and we never see it again. That's why we need that extra hour of sunlight every day. The cause of global warming lies elsewhere. Obviously friction from the brake pads of millions and millions of Chinese cars is contributing to it but there may be more to it.

Hi, can you book me in for some Chrissy lights also? Only one string of solar lights thanks, as the carbon tax is killing me. I'd like one with 7 bulbs that blinks 3 times every 5 seconds. No stobes, they set of my epilepsy. I'm in northern NSW, so only a short walk from Cotteloe. Thank you.

Just finished putting up about 2000 Xmas lights around the place.
Seeing I cant turn them on until much later with DLS it also means I have to stay up later to turn them off.
DLS also means you get home later from your after work windsurf so that means less time to drink beer.
All this negates any sort of positive feedback for DLS, I still love it but it has its drawbacks
