Hello I just picked up an alloy travel boom

www.duotonesports.com/en/us/products/duotone-silver-series-mega-slim-2024-14230-1406

I am digging it but its pretty tight to slide in and out. Anyone ever lube their alloy boom? Or maybe they just loosen up over time.

PS: also got me wondering if there was something I could do to prevent corroision other than rinsing it post session

Silicone spray is what I use.

Mclube Sailkote. You can also spray it on the end of your masts to make rigging/derigging easy. Costs a bomb though.

OMG - thank you for that suggestion of Mclube Sailkote , i got a can from amazon (as you said , not cheap!) used it yeaterday absolutely brilliant .. transformed a sticky alloy boom , ended up using it on all 4 booms (whole family are windsurfers) both carbon and alloy , on the boom ends and on the difficult to move clips , difference was amazing.
thanks again John

Just be careful with where you put it, you don't want to have it on the mast at boom height. ;)

Always pull it apart after a sesh and put back together when you use it next
