I reckon he could go even faster given more wind, he looked pretty comfortable throughout that run.

Wish they'd include another angle. Broad, from a bit of a distance.

Yeah, he looked well in control. Made it look easy. What sort of helmet is that?

the write up on the you tube clip:

Today Antoine Albeau broke the windsurf world speed record : 50.59 knots in Luderitz, Namibia. Anders Bringdal and Antoine Albeau exceeded 50 knots with respectively 50.46 and 50.59 knots on 500 m in windsurfing.
Images d'un run précédent le record.

Well done

There is a gopro clip of the fastest woman going down the track. It looks like driving or riding down a narrow road.

Fantasic efforts there. Will they go faster?

During this record run his peak speed was 53knts, he also beat the wolrd tandem record with cédric Bordes 38.12 knts.

On a later run he hit the side of the canal at full speed, he says "I'm not sure everyone here could survived that crash..."
Broke his fin, mast and split open the sail along the mast on his 5.4.

He's quite confident he's going to break the 52 knts record, his only concern being it's becoming dangerous....

Just for interests sake ...

The video isn't of his fastest run. He used a red board for the record run. Not sure what the make was though?

Yes read that some where else as well, confirmed my doubts from looking at when he passes the yellow buoy at the start and looks like he over sheets due to a lull, then a quick edit to the next scene, not a good way to start a run. The fly by angle, AA is all locked down and loaded, no movement, except for the water below, that's what's needed for an entire run to get great averages what ever your level.

Would like to see gps results going into that half lay down, some serious speed there, a perfected PWA move from years of experience. If there's crash footage, it will break records as well, that's sounds nasty as, so lucky. I wonder if any mods are being made to the course to help push things a bit further?.

Out of interest I see Anders has ditched his Gasoil sails for the Evo's. That's going to put a ding in Gasoil sales
