decided to do a post on HOW TOO make a weed speed fin 45+deg wide profile in the speed section until c3 posted there proto , very much similar to mine

so far to my knowledge the only fin like it is the MFC and there 55deg rake , just a bit to much for my liking
these wide, low profiled fins around 22cm or less will drive a 7.5mt sail in chop, and cut through weed like your grandfathers axe
the biggest problem with your normal weedy to drive a bigger sail through weed, it just doesn't do the job
ive almost got enough data down to show you how to make make your own , its been a slow process because i have had to make a fin from scratch only a week ago, it should be ready too box in a couple of days , then ill post the pic's
this is an excellent time of the year to knock up a project, we will have the westerly's here(illawarra) around june and you will need a shallow weedy

the foil is a profile (or cord =22cm) I took from the MCF 17CM , then used a similar design as the c3 slingshot where its thicker at the base
the whole idea of showing you how to make a fin is to show the basics on how its done, from there on its up to you to modify it
the reason I decided to design this fin is, I had a MFC 15CM, to my liking It had to much rake and was too loose of the wind , so I lifted the angle to 50deg and to a 17cm
5deg and 2cm made all the difference but I wasn't getting enough lift, so I had a look at the c3 and they were thicker at the base for 25mm with a 5mm difference at the tip(MFC 1mm)

heres my second attempt at uploading from you tube, it loaded it twice for some reason
if you are setup for glassing this fin should cost about $20 in materials , taking into consideration 22gr uni carbon is $22mt, and you can get THE CRAW via wa to ship you some barrel nuts for $2 each
im up for some criticism in the and lay up of this fin, its not your normal procedure and I wouldn't have it any other way

Those youtube videos are getting better Keef. Thought you were going to pull a Baker's dozen out of the oven. Like the music selection, or was that just a random band in the garage next door?

lucky I don't have to share the kitchen or lucky its west system epoxy (no fumes) yep the editing is getting better, but I think ill have to add the music last , the were two tracks at the start, and the drummer was going to sleep at times
