thanks greenroom, holgs and haggar. all the help is appreciated.
hey greenroom

- not bothered if the surf isn't magnificent as i am prety ordinary in the surf. ask nebs about my last effort in the surf,

but rolling lumps will allow for some nice air so that does sound appealing. i've thought about going for a while now. lots of mates go fishing there. and that famous surf and windsurf guide book we both are lucky enough to have has enticed me.
holgs - yeah, it's the sandbar at the river mouth i was thinking of. saw some stuff on tele that made me think i'd like to sail there. really just a bump and jump location. seems at low tide it's no good though as the bank is exposed. it does look sharky too.

google earth shows it well. i was hoping that in a NE it would be good cross shore with 2 foot fun on the banks. looks like springs would be the go in a SE on google earth.
haggar - ahhh!!! elliot heads. been there a few times and loved it. managed to be there once when the swell was good. 2-3 foot or so. was lots of fun.
