I've read the various foil threads and foiling FB page, but to me at least, it's unclear.

Does anyone know what beginner windsurfer foils/boards are available right now in Australia? Thanks

Hi Snides, just talking boards is the larger NP board too big for normal conditions or where do you see the benifits of board volume from your horue and now the jp board experience and then the larger jp too.
Cheers Dave

I am not sure at this stage the bigger Jp wants to plane any earlier than my 115horue - i have only used the jp board once (yesterday)
so a bit early to really tell.I weigh in at around 78kg so the 115ltr horue pops up on the foil in a round 8/10 knots
and yesterday the jp seemed to get going at the same point. Keep in mind the wood jp is prob heavier.

I suspect the jp even tho its bigger in Volume and wider will prob be better suited to a slightly bigger sail and as such should get up earlier - in theory.
the real difference in sailing the 2 boards on the foil is that i found the jp is a lot more comfortable for me as its rail shape under the back foot is more rounded.

Sean no idea on price at this stage, when i take it back i will enquire..
The carbon board looks good although its black and a heat magnet...
i would like to try this as well but unfortunately some 'muppet' has his name on it.

That spot near the scout club in Applecross has to be one of the most beautiful/scenic/ideal locations in the world to windsurf or wind foil from - seriously.

Small grassy area,a nice bit of shade under that big tree and so quiet due to the very low traffic flow.

Just don't tell anyone.

Out of interest, what size sail are you using to get on the foil at 8/10 knots? and how sensitive is foiling to sail size in general?

In the videos, it seems that people are either using massive race rigs or small wave sails.

The Zeeko Alloy windfoil is available now. The Zeeko windfoil boards are close.
what is interesting is that the Zeeko system of Alloy Tuttle head fixed to plate reduces load on the Tuttle box by 70%.
But I can see a windfoil board that offers inserts along side the Tuttle box as the future way to go.
