Hey guys. I put up a post earlier but it never posted for some reason. The photos are saved on this site but my written post didn't !
Anyway. Here I go again. But in short.
If you are an aggressive surfer & into boom crash opera, then this may not be for you.
Got this 6ft 6" volume 44 litres Sunova Soul & love it. Great for an older weak paddler like me at age 57 at approximately 80 kilos & got the old habits from my late 1970s years on my old single fin Carrabine board.
The Soul is a great paddler & is fast & planes easily keeping up speed over fat sections.
Just recently tried it as a twin fin. With MR twins plus stabilizer.
Love it.![]()
Have yet to try other fin set ups.
Check the new Sunova site. It describes the Soul as close to the performance of the Hypto Krypto.
They also describe their performance well.
Love their board construction too. Long lasting & strong.
May not bother buying a mal now.![]()

Versatile fin set up there brother. I've had n "8 6" burger that's now 20 years old. You can't hurt it great board. Closest thing to a ding is an old ciggie burn on the bottom.
Just recently tried it on overhead waves with the 7" single fin. Just swapped over to the single cause I wanted to get the most paddle speed to get onto the wave. Caught waves easily & had a ball carving up & down the face making the most out of the waves until they turned to nothin. Even hit the lip a few times but didn't want to get too aggressive on my turns as it can just stop dead & buck me off.
Obiously this board doesn't bog down on the carves with its volume & single fin. The 8" fin is great too. Nice & fast!
Was great to get a few decent rides to get a good feel for this board.
Will have go back to the other fins in good surf next time to feel the difference.
Even though its a big board it suits me fine when coming off an 8ft paddleboard. Like riding a wave on a skateboard. ![]()
