Final coming up Slater V Adriano de Souza.
Slater up to his usual tricks in the heats, 10's, switchfoot barrels etc.

The final was a bit of of a fizzer actually compared to the heats but still some good waves.

Taj B has another title "stolen" by the FREAK needing a score in the last minutes of a heat/final ......far- me how many times has he done that to Taj (and a few others i guess), a 10 on the last wave of a heat. KE11Y SL8TER has the ocean under his control im sure of it

except in the FINAL bloody Brazo wins again maybe fuel some more "heat" between adriano and slater

Wicked comp though run and won in 3 days FUEL on foxtel goooooooooooood
commentry was good too the yank TURPEL and DOHERTY were froth monsters

No way was that a 10. There were plenty of better waves in other heats that scored 9 or less that were deeper/longer/better. I hate the hype. Commentators going nuts, "if the judges don't give that a 10 I'll personally go up and sort them out". Pfft.

I think the fact that he took off late and deep, dropping straight into barrel on his backside without grabbing the rail... leaving him to pump like crazy at speed, then exited right at the last minute as the wave shut down on him = 10 point ride... just my opinion.
