I made a post earlier this week entitled ???A New Type of Surf Rage????

I made it because I was upset at the treatment my friends and I received from the local surf school operator.

But then again???.. when has someone wanted you kicked off the beach because you were having too much fun?

You see, we???ve formed a surf gang called ???New Kids on the Beach???. We have diverse backgrounds. We run businesses, we are teachers, sports coaches, students, groms, old sea dogs, young ladies, mums and mums to be, medical professionals, film producers etc. We are kids, we are parents, we are grandparents. We surf, we windsurf, we SUP and/or we ride surf mats. (Remember how much fun you had as a kid riding a surf mat?) Our surfing abilities range from complete beginner to hardcore. One thing we all have in common is a love of the surfing way of life, the enjoyment of riding waves and the desire to have fun on the water.

Anyone can join our gang. It???s not a club or an organization. It???s a gang. There are no membership fees. There???s no initiation ritual. There are no hoops to jump through. You don???t even need to know how to surf. All you need is a desire to have fun in the water, the willingness to encourage others and the ability to spread a good vibe.

Someone once said that the best surfer on the beach at any one time is the person having the most fun. That???s us! It???s amazing that one of us hasn???t drowned because we laugh so much while we???re surfing. We laugh out in the water, we tell tall stories afterwards while having coffee and we celebrate whenever one of us gets a good wave, takes a big wipeout or achieves a personal milestone. (When was the last time people hooted you when you got a good wave?)

Have you ever taught someone to surf and had your pupil receive a standing ovation from a crew of hardcore surfers on the beach when she/he finally gets to their feet and surfs for the very first time? Have you ever helped someone overcome their fear and catch a proper wave for the first time and seen the huge smile on their face, plus on the faces of the other beach-goers who were witnessing the drama of it all? Have you ever had the opportunity to help someone conquer their demon, and seen the look they give you as they punch the air to celebrate their achievement?

That???s what the ???New Kids on the Beach??? gang is all about. But it???s mainly about having fun. Yeah??????fun.

Haha years ago, i mean over26 years ago went along with some mates to a free surf film in Scarbs..Light food, music it was a real buzz. Until they stopped the film and started to preach. Even funnier was when they tried to stop the mass exodus by blocking the doors Lest just say it turned out a lot different than the Potters were planning for

Hey! A few mates and I joined the christian surfers when we were kids. Surf trips down the coast, free food and accommodation,it was great. I do.aadmire their determination in trying to change us. Smoking cones drinking passion pop and screwing the local girls won out every time.....yet they kept telling us God could make us happier. We excepted their challenge.....we did thank God for cones cheap piss and women,so they were half right

that is pretty average behaviour Chrispy, I hope it has promoted a sense of guilt and shame throughout your life and to share this in such a public manner is disgraceful, I mean who would admit to drinking passion pop, ffs why didn't you go the goonbag, mum's cooking sherry or was your plan to get hold of piss that the girls would like......oh now I get it, the youth of today could learn a lot from you Chrispy, ever thought of running a camp or a gang?
