Hey guys, I'm a 16yo girl and i am looking to get a performance board. I have been up on the face for a while now and starting to do turns now. I am looking for a new board because mine is 6'4... way too big for me! I'm 5'7 and 57kg. I can't duckdive it.
I have been looking at the Hayden Shapes Hypto Krypto. I really like the shape of this board as it is wider. I do want a wider board like that.
Anyone got any suggestions? ![]()

Why do you want a wider board? You won't have developed the ability to move your back foot enough to get it on rail I'd have thought.
And I can't recommend Futures.
I'd be looking at second hand boards until you can find the volume and profile that suits your ability best before committing to a full price board. Dropping down from a 6.4 leaves you with endless possibilities, but you wont know what's right for you (and the waves you predominantly surf) until you try it. You can pretty much move on second hand boards for the same or close to what you paid for them (assuming that you don't damage them anymore).
Think about LOST ROCKET - short board with volume really popular and go like "a Rocket" apparently..from a 6'4 you could go all the way down to a 5'6 or 5'8 depending on your weight to ability ratio!!! and cash flow![]()
Lots of options but that board would be fine maybe a 5'4 or 5'6 as they're meant to be ridden short.. Just remember they prefer clean conditions, get a bit unsettled when its choppy.
Where are you from Jordie? I see Sutho in your name.
If your from Sutherland I have a 5'6 Firewire Hellfire (at Cronulla) you can have as my son as grown out of it.http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/surfboards.php?boardid=hellfire
It is a bit old and discoloured but watertight. No fins. So not really any re-sale value for me other than to see another kid get some stoke out of it.
Send me a PM if you want.
Cheers
