I was in Bali recently and checked out some of the surf spots. I would say Double 6 beach in Seminyak area is nice...and probably suitable for your daughter. I learnt how to surf there.
Kuta is where a lot of surfers are, but way too crowded! Since you surfed around the world, I would presume you should be pretty good, can check out the beach at Uluwatu. Gorgeous place and killer waves!
People in Bali usually rent a board & bike and just go explore around to find the good spots.
You can also book a 1 or 2-bedroom villa in Seminyak area. The villas are aplenty in Bali and usually very pretty! Comes usually with private pool, housekeeper, cook, security guard etc. Your wife would love it, especially with loads shopping at every corner.
The waves at Uluwatu...have to swim a distance out though. But simply gorgeous place.
