Just bought one of these for small days, 6'2'x203/4" x 25/8" thruster set up.

Should be a good complimant to my 6'4" webber aferburner on fatter up to head high days.

Yet to surf mine but did surf a 6'0" version and is was great went the 6'2" for a tad more flotation.

Anyone else got one of these?

I shopped around for a similar board last year. Tried a pod 6'2" but felt way to big. Did abit more reseach on the am site and saw the pod is meant to be ridden 6-8" shorter than your normal shortboard, which explained why the 6'2" felt too big. Ended up getting a js nitro 6'2" similar width to the pod but less width in the nose. Outgrewthat in about a month, went to a 6'then down to 5'10" then down to a 5'8"x 191/4"x23/8". Ride it almost every day over summer and love it. Perfect for small or fatter waves. Feels more like a shortboard to turn than the pod I found. Love it.

Looking at getting one myself very soon. Can't decide whether to go for a 5'10 or go with a bit more bouyancy on a 6'0.

Been riding a 6'2 retro fish which is way too big for me but still fun as it's an easy paddle so the wave count is up there. Rail to rail though it's a pig so wanting to replace with a more performance style board but something that still has reasonable volume.

had had a surf on this beasty now, was 2 ft peaky onshore and totally loved it. Found it very nimble and was able to paddle into waves easily

I'm 6ft 90kg and nearly 50, hence i wanted a fair bit of floatation, the 6.0 would have been fine also.

This will keep me off the longboard on the small days

The CI website is very informative and had looked there for ages.

Lost of alternatives in this style of board are available, I went on a few good recommendations and after a surf last night in small clean surf 1-2ft max, this is heaps more fun than my longboard, it noserides really well LOL. flys through flat sections and paddle in so easy

very happy with this choice of baord as a small wave shorty.

We got a bit of swell on the w/e, so got to surf this baby in varied condidtion s from overhead good beachy to head high soft point break and fat rollers at OG.

It went surprisingly well in all conditions, may have prefered my webber in the beachies, otherwise this will be my got to baby at OG and the rare times I surf poultry point

Well my Podis a month old and I can't keep off this thing,

Spent 10 days surfing in the Tathra NSW area in small through to well overhead beachies and it went amazingly well, was only on the bigger days i went back to my webber.

waves where a bit fat as you paddled in and then went nuts over the shallow sandbars.

this is a deceptively good board, I must add i'm rumming mine with GAM performance core fins not the smaller AM2's it came with

Be careful not to go too big with a POD. I usually ride a 6'1 to 6'3 short board and I ride a 5'4 Pod with quad setup. These things have so much bouyancy are really fast and loose. I really wouldn't want to go any bigger. It even handles fine over head high. Only thoughts is that I would probably go a thruster as having such a small board is so loose already,'in saying that Im still getting used to it as its my first quad.

Love the board, the only thing is I dont want to give it up for winter!

Hi guys - how well does the pod paddle ? I know you should be riding these things smaller than your normal shorty but because of and old mans back I really need a board that paddles well. I am thinking about a 6'4 pod (yeah I know thats huge for you guys on shortys every day) because my main ride nowdays is an 8'0 hybrid but I love the look of this little beast and reckon it will be perfect for my local beachy when its a bit quick and sucky for the the 8fter. How many of you are riding it as a quad or thruster also ?

I find my 5'4 quad paddles alot easier than even my largest shorty(6'10) for getting out the back. In regards to catching waves its a gem, remember its built to be able to get on the waves easier but have less size for manoeuvring when your riding. Mine flies, theres no need to pump on mushy days and I often find myself still standing and gliding another 3 metres past the end of the wave...on a 5'4!!! All I can say is that I'm glad I took the gamble and went smaller than I was planning. For an average size guy and ability my opinion would be not to go over 6'0 if you really want to make the most out of this beauty.

my boy has a 5'6'' and is very happy with it in small stuff.
