wouldn't be sure what i want to do.

i do really like surfing 12'6 and 14 'ers- the lines and finesse to turn it right and in the right parts of the waves appeals.

I brought an old school log for the GF (and me) a few months back and have had a lot of fun on it. Its especially good on those small clean days when i used to take the SUP out. Now the SUP stays at home. Having said that on reflection I wish I had brought something a bit more high performance and lighter - its too heavy for the GF to drag around, take off car etc. The board goes good up till about 1.5 times overhead - it then starts to bounce on drops and finds it hard to handle the speed. Or maybe its just my inabilities coming through! On the waist to head high days its so much fun its ridiculous. It has surprising speed and you can barge through sections with ease as it just holds its line with all its weight making it hard to get pushed around by the whitewater as you aim for the shoulder again. I have really enjoyed learning the art of walking up and down the board to get it moving and turning. I have also been studying lots of youtube on drop knee turns etc and am loving the new learning experience. When I jump back on the short board after the Log I feel like I am surfing a whole lot better as a result as well (hope this is the case!). Its like after you have been snowboarding and your bottom turns upon returning to the water are so much better - longer and more drawn out.

I would take Macs advice and demo several different Mal's first. Living where you do with all those long point breaks would make surfing a longboard an absolute dream. I mostly surf mine on clean beachies or the occasional point - would love to have a series of points to play on a regular basis. You will have it mastered in no time at all with all those points to play with.

Lacey, i say this to everyone...please try before you buy (regardless of what you get or from whomever). PM me - happy to help out as we have at least 6 demo's that might suit you.

Looking forward to seeing you as a "legit" longboard lounge member! - Mark

Those Munoz boards go very well for such a big board. I'm sure obct has one as well. I had the 10'6 and it turned very well for a board that size. Plenty of rocker. I might even get another one when my medical dramas are over.

No, I don't have one, I have two, and get this, both are identical 10'6".

Why, because I loved the first one so much, I found one in better condition, bought it immediately and kept the first one just in case the unthinkable happened and I broke or lost the good one.

Not sure I would want the 12' but I could be interested in the 11' if I ever saw a good one.

If I could find a really good repair guy in Sydney, I may even think about getting the iffy one done up like new.

The day I got mine the surf was well overhead and I thought a 10'6 might be a bit of a handful but it went really good and the best bit was getting into the wave really early.

I've ridden the 11 and it's a fair bit different to the 10'6 for sure but still pretty good. Ive seen the 12 but never ridden it but its a lot of board. There is a guy down in Gerringong who does really good epoxy repairs and matches the paint really good as well. He is really reasonable price wise as too so if you ever get down this way I can put you on to him.
