Just curious to know, who prefers the classic style of longboarding and who prefers the more modern performance style of longboarding? Which is more appealing or better to watch? Where to you think longboarding is heading in terms of approach to wave riding!

I enjoy both,but sometimes you gotta ride it like you stole it and fang it as if the cops are on your tail

Exactly!

Yes, I enjoy a bit of both. And not too much of either.

Old:New Ratio's that I like;
Anything from 90:10 through to 20:80.

Yeh! i like to see the whole length of the board used, otherwise i don't see the point riding a longboard you might as well ride a shorty. All of the standouts that i have seen have a good balance between the two.

I'm with Mac

But it'd be for riding a retro board like you stole it - or a bit of fang out with your wang out [}:)]

There was an older guy up on the GC last week riding a McT, don't think he got his hair wet in the hour or so session I could've watched him all day, very relaxed style.
Everyone says there's "a feeling" you get when you're up and going, I can't wait to get that feeling that you guys all get, each time I go out.
I'm just as happy to get up and going well, so the old classic style is what I'm after I guess for now...
I'm so close now, it frustrates

Its funny cos I ride a longboard in a fairly moderni style - mainly because I cant really do anything too traditional other than a half decent drop-knee BUT I tend to ride a sup in a much more traditional longboard style and actually find it way easier to noseride/trim/stall turn etc on my fat little sup. I am gunna start riding a few more log style boards so maybe I can learn to surf them better and do them justice.

Surfed four times on the weekend, going off yesterday at a secluded location north of Perth. Best surf in a long time

Sounds like everyone scored over in the west on the weekend. Theres a big low brewing off the NSW coast at the moment with some pretty big swell predicted.

Nice north of where Doggie photo was taken as well. Seems to be good banks everwhere for once. Same crowd deal, 15 down to 10 guys spread over a km stretch
On topic, when I was at Noosa last year some of the guys riding old style where amazing
