the tide makes to your local break.

Surfed a good 3 foot low tide spot today and a few hours later on high its nothing.
At 3 foot at this place its game on but at high its game over.
Whats the best tide at your local

Yep keeping it real in the surfing forum

Tends to work best here on low tide and yep by high tide can be pretty cr.p. I think the main reason for that here is a lot of the breaks are formed over reefs or rocks , not that I am a geologist or any sort of wave specialist .

Easy question for me at my south end local

If you fall off at low tide you rip open your guts on the reef

If you fall off at high tide, you don't rip your guts open

Incoming tide and the higher the better, as soon as it hits the top of the tide it turns to poop. Then it's time for lunch and wait for the rip banks 4k's north to turn on. And pray that the onshore stays away.

Nice shots there Smicko.

Lots of variations where I live. The beaches change on every swell but the reefs are a constant. One needs mid to high outgoing another needs low to mid but does not handle the incoming tide well whilst the other one needs mid to low. So most bases are covered round here.
