Nice pics guys, here's one of my fave pics from this year. Taken with a Lumix FZ150
It was interesting to check file sizes for Ted & Simondo's pics. Of the pics I right clicked & saved to desktop to check filesize. Simondo's were 3 to 4 times the filesize, about 160kb compared to 40-60kb for Ted's first shots. Pics may well have been taken with a 6 x more pricey cam, but the photo resize makes it pointless to compare until later when you really notice the resolution crank up for his later nice shot of the jetty....My pic was about 800kb & it was resized automatically to about 160kb by the forum.
Nice shots. That beach looks lovely. I love the colour of water you have over west.
I normally re-size my shots and post them around the 50-70kb size for 2 reasons: (a) ease of use - so I can email 15 on them in one email to friends / family.
(b) restrict use - lots of the pro's (and I am no pro!!) do not put shots on the net that have file sizes too large so that the material can not be copied and printed. The higher resolution shots can easily be used by others.
In addition I mostly use my Mac Air which has crap resolution anyway !!!!!
I have been fortunate to sell a few shots and sequences to people in the last few months so when I am sending them to people to review I send them low res and with the watermark. I was taking shots of that Jetty the other night and a lovely young couple (seen at the far right of the shot) were headed down the Jetty and I asked them to wait for a little bit so I could get the shot. They were very nice about it so I took a bunch of shots of them and sent them to them in high res as a thank you. So that was the only reason I posted such a high res shot as it was done. I have been using the money to upgrade my equipment. Its the only way the minister of war will let me

Last night I went round to a mates place to look at his shots from the Bells comp. He has some absolute rippers - I am going to post a few of them in here once he sends me some low res versions.
