Couldn't watch it all, just too boring & this guy leaves negative comments on other peoples video's. Basically anyone not just riding along straight & boring like him he calls "flip flopping".

If you watch the second video you can see that there is not on but two people who took an acid trip in 1975 and purchased the same wetsuit.

I have wondered when Roy when turn up in here....many a time I thought of bringing him in but thought it would be interesting to see the comments that he brought about. He had a board for sale for $528K at one point....he is clearly a wood worker of high skill but I think he might just be a little dreamie at times....I did see him a few times when Pipefins was giving TB crap show up. In a few of the other surf forums he has been given an absolute pasting for a variety of reasons. I like the look of his boards....not sure about the reasoning for some of them....but people are different and each to their own. OI know one thing though - I would love to be able to craft a bit of wood like him!!!

That first vid is where I spent 4 beautiful yrs whilst studying maths and economics a few yrs back now....my fianc?e lived 1km up the road in the bush overlooking an even better wave than that one. God I miss it!!!!!!!

The board is made longer and heavier, and so it guarantees fast ride. 12-feet long and 45-pound heavy, this long board is inspired by the 'Olo longborads', which were exclusively crafted for the royals during pre-colonial era. The Roy Stuart boards are always known for their hydro-dynamically advanced features like the parallel profile construction, that is very different from the normal surfboard which is hollow.
The surfboard is made by using the layers of Paulowina wood and is laminated over a mold just like layering fiberglass on the hull of a ship. The board can be customized according to the specifications of the purchaser. The special technique, which makes the board thinner and faster, costs 500 times more than your average surfboard

Here is another one

528 is a Solfeggio Frequency. 528 Hertz. I could've chosen many numbers but to eliminate a lot of possibilities I chose a number that is beneficial to people. (Solfeggio Frequencies are six sound frequencies used to heal.

Well you could have my board for $993 & it would ride a lot better provided you didn't weigh over 100kg. Oh the odd price??? That's the local frequency for Triple J, my favourite radio station...nothing special, but it'll sure make you feel better than paying $528,000 fricken dollars for a wooden hand crafted canoe ; P

AAARRRGGGHHHH.
How boring. I love to glide, but that is mind numbing. I couldn't even watch it completely through, while at work.
With that type of wave, a low rocker 9'6" nose rider would be heaven.

That's what I've been terrified of, but I looked at the thread and I can't see his full name anywhere.

I know he trawls al over the web looking for his name, I don't know what that's a sign of.

A few years back I noticed that he made a contribution to a eensy weency teensy tiny Great Lakes surfing forum because someone made a derogatory comment about him when they were discussing one of his boards.

Oops, I just re read teds post, he used his full name.

Bugger

That's farked us good and proper.

Might make a good skateboard...... matter of fact, my next one is going to be a similar shape, minus the rocker......

The guy is a "very interesting person" he has some very unique philosophies, and is extremely judgmental about any other type of boards other than his own. Shame really, stuck on one track and not able to understand that we're all different.

Thanks!

Regarding the rocker of the 'Makaha' 12-9 in the first video, the part of the board which does most of the work ( the tail, which is nearly ten feet long) is flatter than the flattest of mal designs. The nose rocker is only in the water occasionally when on the wave. Anyone who thinks that an old mal design will keep up with it in those waves is in fantasy land.

That's the 13'9" Dragon.. recently a surfermag forum member compared this board's rocker ( which is an even circular arc with more curve than the tail of the Makaha 12-9 ) with a very flat Phil Edwards malibu blank rocker and found to his surprise ( and mine) that it is almost identical:

The red crosses are the Phil Edwards rocker:

I photoshopped it out... honest.. .

Be prepared for some tussling with your wetsuit maker if you want 'hotcoal'.
