paint came out so good. Think i might polish the nose where there will be no wax. Love this one. 9'1" x 23" x 2 7/8. Its Petes "short board bottom" model. Nose concave half way down to double concave and a vee out the back.

Maiden Voyage report.
WOW, Very fast and light. Took me back 35-40 years ago when I first rode a short board. Everything is so fast and whippy. Think this might be my go to board for a while. Certainly very different to the 24" wide Pieter Easyrider I have been using. A few more sessions and I will give the tri fin option a run.

Would like to know why.

Steve don't give up the idea of waxing the nose. I have a "The Mal" model from Pie Eater 9'1"x 22" x 2 7/8". Can definitely ride the nose. They are quite flat up front and with the nose concave, very forgiving. Interesting the tail. Mine has a rounded pin which is more characteristic of a HP longboard. Any reason for the square tail?

Pie Eater haha,I absolutely love the passion Pieter has for making boards, his detail would be second to none, the work he puts into his boxing for overseas customers is mind blowing and I loved todays post when he said his wife mixed the blood red colour for the panel D fins he is currently makes, just a great set up he has.

I asked about rounded pin and he said all his team riders swear by the square. Anyway, i had it out in head height A frame monster reef break today and it was like a runaway freight train.

Yeah mate, i have had it out in some overhead waves and it was great. I can see why the pros dont win comps on quads. As a thruster it just wanted to turn hard all the time. For me though i like the quad. Feels faster, although it may not be, but i like the loose, big drawn out turns with the quad. I think a **** hot short board surfer would be snapping vertical reos as a thruster. Lol.

Yeah, Second only to that first time you take your new stick down to the water, drop it in for the first time, then climb aboard. I just love sucking up all the new feed back from a new board from the time it hits the water to the first wave.
I have been spoilt since getting back into surfing. 8 new boards in 18 months.

Steve how is the board going now that you've had it a few months? I'm very tempted by this design as I usually surf sloppy beach breaks where the more speed the board and rider can generate the better.....

PM sent Dave. Its a keeper. It made it to the quiver. Has had a few big dings but still great. Nothing a sticker or 2 wont cover.
I sold the gun on the bottom. Too small, even at 7'6". Too much rocker for this big ol fella.
