Hey Kagey
This is from the Diverse site

Product Description

Def not for beach breaks IMO

A magic carpet ride......'The pig' model at Diverse will allow you to nose ride like you've never nose ridden before! It's what it's all about. Stylin glidin take off, bottom or drop knee turn and allow the magic to unfold! You'll spend so much time with your pinkies hanging over the nose, you won't want to set your feet back on land. The feeling of a heavy single fin longboard is bliss! The glide is addictive! The momentum is surprising! Allow your classic style to unfold riding the magic of 'the pig'. And it can be thought of as 'the pig' because you undoubtly find yourself making a pig of yourself with the waves on this new/old skool model of board....

I've heard it said on the swaylocks that almost every Thruster shaped since Simon Anderson first one is essentially a Pig with the wide point rear of centre, and I think McCoy was doing it even before that.

I thought they might be the answer to my prayers, giving me good volume via width, where I need it the most for an early entry and a stable platform to get me to my feet. The only problem is, I got a loaner from Bennetts and it was a disaster, far too heavy and far too thin.

A mate, who really is a good nose rider and weights half as much as me, got the same board for a loan and had the same problems as me. Ever since then I've questioned the wisdom of a heavy glass job.

Perhaps the correctly sized one would be good, but I'm not willing to fork out the 1600 smackeroos to find out when I already have a moderately good, but certainly not great, Person Arrow nose rider that will get the job done. Provided I have no special interest in turning the board

Maybe one day a silver-tongued shaper will talk me into it.

That belongs to my mate across the road Simo personally I dont like it but he got it cheap he has a heap of boards from them. I havent had a diverse board before, given the choice I would get another MCT as they are roughly the same price and better finish, resale IMHO etc
Cheers Boof

Nice MCT pimp from you Mac will be proud

I had an old Bennett pig shape about 10 years back with a big D fin right on the tail.
It had a wide point back plan shape and weighed a ton. You had to be right on the back over the fin to turn it but it did turn. I never really rode it in anything over waist high as it didn't have a leggie on it.some guy from Sydney came down and bought it. He was pretty happy with it because it had been restored and looked pretty good.
If you get on the Hawaiian Pro Designs American page they have a pig model as does McTavish.

Nice I think they are a very specialised board good for what they were designed for. I dont think I would ever have one and definetly wouldnt have a fin box as i think it detracts from the whole look feel and reason for having an old skool board like that

iv spoken to 2 people who bought the replica pigs from MacT. They were at the pass and i asked them separately how they go. They both replied "a few head scratching moments" but after a week or 2 they reckon they got use to them and love them.

Did this pig last year. Absolutely amazing anywhere forward of centre where it will accelerate and nose ride for ever. Not the best turner though. Very one dimensional but great at what it does best.
