Hey folks, I'm looking at swapping my 10' Noosa 66 for a 9'4" CJ Nelson Sprout. I've always found the Noosa 66 just feels bigger and heavier than it needs to for me. Does the Sprout seem like a reasonable alternative?

Just my view....go for the lighter weight board, weight can make a board feel sluggish either board would be great boards

Going from a 10' to 9'4" will immediately have an impact. I have a 9'4" Noosa 66 which has been fantastic but it's not called a Noosa 66 for nothing. Its plan shape really requires to move up and down the board to position and manoeuvre it where you want it to go. All depends what you are looking for in a mal. Malo is right, weight will always make a difference, but that difference can be both a negative or negative, all depends how and where you surf. Not sure if that helps but all the best with your decision. Having said the Noosa is a beautiful board.
