Welcome Sepirott - I have ridden the 9'6 and 10'0 Old Skools heaps at Noosa and on the Goldy points. These are dedicated performance nose-riders. Had a ball on them - lightweight (being SLX Epoxy), easy to paddle and turn yet stable cos they are very wide (24 1/4" for the 10ft) and have a flat rocker.
I am 70kgs so the lighter boards help me turn it easier and maintain momentum etc.
I would personally like to have just a fraction more nose lift to avoid catching it on late take-offs, but that's probably due to me riding it thinking I'm still on something shorter!
As for longevity - these are glassed to perform now, not to last 30 years like your Shaun Dunn board. If you want that then go for a volan or minimum 6x6x6 glass job with triple stringer. Boards like the Redline, trad Astro's & Tolhursts & Bennetts, Laguna Bay Fliptail, etc will fit the bill but will of course be heavier. Hope that helps. PS The price is good cos they have a new model out.
Disclosure: we sell and love most of the above mentioned boards - Mark

Thanks Mac, I would like one but I have the chance to get this board at a good price. I really wanted a second hand 10 footer for around S650 but hard to find a good one. I can get this one for under a $1000 new and think it might be worth going into a bit of debt. I am a keen McTavish fan though for sure.
