I had a pretty productive patch of work from December through to now...

Is it wrong to hold a few grand back per month, from the wife's prying eyes...? I've got enough money in my little side account for a KTM 500 EXC (new).... When she eventually notices the smell of a new bike, and some Orange Thing in the garage in lieu of the current Red one... is it wrong to tell her the upgrade cost was $2,500...?

I also wish TNT Express could just ring me to confirm a McTavish Delivery Date & Time... That way I have a good chance of sneaking it into the garage un-noticed!

I love the KTM,s
I have had a 620 LC4, left foot kick beast of a bike could chew through a back tyre in one weekend, and my last bike was a 2003 300exc it was like a bmx bike with a 300cc motor we used to fill our camel backs up some times with rum and coke, dirty our number plates up and go on night rides through Sydney then my new missus came along and the kids and two dislocated knees and everything came to a screaming halt

300EXCs are the best two stroke ever imo

Yeah it was my first and only 2 stroke Doggie when I got it I thought shiz what have I been missing I could come up beside my mate on his WR400 drop it back a gear hit the band and spray shiz all over him
I cant imagine what the new 500 exc must be like 4 stroke but in such a light frame just get one Simo

I used to have a KDX 200 - loved that beast although it was none too popular with the cows and sheep. The trusty old XR four strokes were our main weapon of choice.

The old xrs were indestructable Ted I had one on my learners then went straight to Kwakka GPZ 1100 fuel injected 4 into 1 pipe was a very steep learning curve for a 17 year old I dont know how I got through looking back

Didnt you say the monster doesnt get much of a go Simondo, maybe get on the duc more and leave the dosh in the bank.

Stuk, after recent trips on the Monster I've now realised why I don't ride it that much.... It's set up with sports suspension, and unreal massive twin Brembo's up front. But it's the sports suspension that isn't much good around me. The roads around here are quite bumpy with sudden undulations... My Subaru Forrey just sucks them up, but they are bumpy enough to bounce the "in cabin" surfboards around a little bit. But once the Monster is onto the Great Ocean Road, it's smooth sailing, and great riding. But those good rides are 2hrs+ return. The local roads that are good for a squirt are too bumpy for the Ducati.

A KTM 500 will eat up anything and everything!

I guess I am lucky we have numerous good road riding areas on the mid coast of NSW. Having said that some of the guys I ride with still have V-Stroms or Triumph Tigers. I toyed with the idea of swapping the ST2 for a multistrada, might do it one day.

Stick with the ST2 I recon

Yeah thats the decision atm. We do about a 400km road ride every Thursday somewhere around the area and its a blast on the twisties and comfy on the drone Hwy rides.

Nice bike I have ridden a couple of them, better than an ST4 imo.
