My son has got one and I ride it out the front of my place. I'm the same age as you Mac.

I'm 45 and got one about 3yrs ago... ride it just to cruise and carve curbs etc (ie no power slides or anything like that) - we have found a really good new car park that is close to home that is really smooth with a nice long slope and islands to carve around - with just enough speed to make it concerning/exhilarating.

Also took it on holiday last Easter and cruised the paths along the coast etc (strapped it to the roof bars next to the surfboards with my son's and his mates').

I know a guy who is 53 and he cruises along the coast as part of his exercise mix.

your never to old to skate mac. even just cruising the boardwalks having a carve is bulk fun

We're lucky here GPA as we had our road closed off about 2 years back and there's no through traffic. Got a nice gentle hill about 1 km long perfect for hill carving.

Nice - that'd be good. My 14yo son and his mates would love it... Mmm... Might have to take mine out tomorrow...

Funny how many smiles you get from people when you are clearly the Dad on a skatey tagging along with your son... Too many people stop doing what's fun because they feel that they are no longer young enough... pigs ar$e to that!

^^^^sweet set up. you could chase nice lines in their all day long i do love all these new bowls they have now. you can just carve around and surf them they are so smooth and made so well. much better than fivedock bowl...that place is a death pit

So Chrispy what is a good longboard skateboard any links you can post up,not the down hill type,cruiser types please.

there is heaps mate. me i love my honey boards,yet we are starting to get some super nice boards being made here now

go look at boardshop australia website. then we will go in and look at the toys
i will give you a couple of different boards to ride to see if you really do want to buy one. then again i alway have my honey in the lounge room so i can perve at it.

i will get the knucklehead to take some pics next time we go for a skate for you all

My sons skate is a "bustin "custom . He ordered it from the states about 2 years ago.
Heaps of fun.

I'm 53 and just took it up with a 47" Vault Pintail. My good mate Mick turned 60 last Wednesday and is rebuilding a couple of his old boards to teach his 6 year old son.

Too much fun to be had these d days, don't know how I have time to work!
