This may be a natural progression from the "how old is too old for surfing" thread.

I think it's age related because I would much rather have an early surf as opposed to an early nooky.

But what's the consensus of opinion amongst the younger set?

Many years ago I have a vague recollection of a story in tracks quoting a survey where the overwhelming majority would prefer a surf session rather than diving for bearded clams.

My wife reckons I'm a rotten lover but I'll be damned if I know how she can come by that conclusion in just a minute and a half.

I think it all comes down to how often you get action . If ur getting it reguarly then no. If you dont get it often then no.

Let me break it down -

Every wave is different.

The bigger and hollower they are the better.

Even the fat ones are fun.

They never say a word , never answer back- just occasionaly spit at you.

You can ride waves as hard as you like and they dont mind.

You can surf all day , every day if you like and there are never any complaints or knock backs.

You can be as picky as you like when choosing waves , cause another one is on its way in 5 mins

Ha ha I happen to believe that the perfect day is a good surf early in the morning until the inevitable onshore breeze, then a trip to the bottle shop on the way home to pick up 6 of Bundabergs best.

Upon arriving home (about an hour before the game starts be it Cricket or Football) I assist in a small amount of house work and the half hour before the game can be spent doing the horizontal folk dance (not the whole half hour I just allow it)

Follow this with a BBQ for dinner with a few mates and this has to be the best day a man could ask for. Surfing, drinking, sport, shagging, eating, socialising.
So yes I feel the younger generation prefer a surf first

i have a few mates who are under the dreaded thumb, but i reckon its a choice. if they get pissed off at you for doing something you love doing, that keeps you fit, and in the end makes you better in the sack, then they might not be the best fit for the lifestyle you live cause after all, once hooked it becomes the be all and end all. if it pumping then everything else gets put on the backburner! just my thoughts and probly why i am still single and have a black belt in hand to gland combat... get to surf alot though
