This hurts, didn't realise how long it's been. Started at 15 (that's 43 years), had a 6'10 pig double ender style, single fin. After that a 7'0" tracker style single fin, that was a fun board. After a couple of years on that, bought a backyarder early twin fin, that rode like it was on train tracks, no fin toe-in, rubbish board. After working for a year, went to The Jetty at Coffs Harbour and bought a deep red 6'2" Cooper twinnie. That board was gold!!!! There have been a lot of boards come and go in the following years, but currently have a Van Straalen Hydro Hull 6'3" twin fin, sweet board. Wish I had taken photos of my boards.
Like you Ted, between periods had a few breaks but got my inner grommie back, when I got my first ever longboard in 1989. Mate got me started, really glad he did.
Cheers Sandsy

Lets see...started out in '62 on a 8' full balsa doubleender, then, i think, 9' for couple of yrs, then 8' Gordon woods stringerless stubbie in '68, then prob in '70 I think a 6'6" McT bluebird with small glass side fins (yep 3 fins) then a San Juan, then 5'6" Tom Hoye twinni from Bennetts.Various others I have to really think on. So I reckon '71 to a 6'10" Josh Dowling in 2011 if thats short! LOL. S**t when did I last ride a 6'6" or under. So lemmie do the guzzintas er 40+ yrs I suppose. Jees how much wax have i used, damm! LOve it, love it, love it!.

Oh I remember Lacey's crew of shortboarders some great memoires.

At a guess 9 years pre longboarding days.

Nice looking board! How big is it?

Definitely the kind of board to start off on shorties!

I love these kind of boards even now, current board is one of the ECS bulldogs at 5'4 by 20 by 2 1/2!

Cheers,
Tom.

Some more nice boards there surf broker. What's the clear board next to the Tolhurst ? Noticed a Goddard creation in there too.

where are yr fire wires? How does the Mark Pridmore 4'2" go? how wide and thick is that one? Those back fins are very close together and right on the rail - but you certainly need lots of fin area for boards with big asses like that one.

Just have a 5'9" baked timbertek atm.

I'm waiting to see a Nano in the flesh though.
The More is 22" (off the top of my head) X 3".
Had a hard edge added to the rail and twinzered as you can see.
Helped it enormously in holding a rail in barrels.
You have to be talented to stand up on it.
