Was very tempted by a Dvs 8,0 x 22 x 3 all rounder today, don't see many of his boards over this side of the country. Anyone ever ridden one? Has single in box and mini side bites, looks like it would go well in good waves with pin tail

I had this for a while. It's epoxy and 8 foot. Plenty of concaves, chines and stuff but I didnt like it. Don't know why.

Sounds like its got alot of different stuff going on, he is a bit of a wizzard and maybe got it wrong on this one smh.

From what Ive seen of his boards and I havnt ridden any of them yet, it looks as if he tries to put too much into them. I like nice simple boards, they seem to work the best imo

I think the fin cluster is a little off on this one... ^

Plus the tail template... It's kind of a wide pin. McTavish would have done that as a rounder pin.

It might go OK down here. I wouldn't mind giving it a test run over a long winter season, amongst my other board...!

Stu, there's a pic of a DVS all rounder on my profile... I'll dig it up.

Here it is. Nice. But too much nose for my liking, maybe.

From memory this is 8'0 x 22 x 3 as you said.

I'm not bagging his boards Doggie. He's a pretty revered shaper and there would be many that would ride nothing but his boards. This board was a swap for another mid length I had and after having a few surfs on it I decided I didnt like it. I thought it looked interesting and gave it a go.I'm with you though I like more simple boards no radical rockers and deep concaves.

Hehe, not saying that at all smh, more of its not a board that you like. Even some customs dont come out the way people order and he is a master shaper.
Im not keen on massive concaves and thats a personal thing, I like nice shallow concaves etc

I know you were not saying that Doggie but there would be a lot of Queenslanders that just love Dick and I didn't want anyone thinking I was poo pooing his boards.

Geez I love some of his fish shapes, and you know that every board isnt going to be to your liking. As they say, it is what it is

I would love to watch him shape a board, he really gets into it aparently

I'm not going to add anything

But I did look at a midlengths all Black carbon anout 7ft looked great but just wasn't sure if it would suit but his board always look good but seem to suit more lined up waves than we get around here. It was kinda like this that was on Crimebay, I was tempted.
