We had a Cortina like that for a family car from maybe 1966 to 1971 when we got an XA Falcon Wagon. MkII Cortina officially maybe. Venatian blind style front grille rather than mesh.2 door, back windows didn't open from memory. Trips from Hobart to Sydney then Melbourne to Sydney, 3 kids across the back seat, guinea pig in it's cage at my feet because I was the smallest. Ours was the base model, I used to look in the service books in the glovebox and dream what it would be like to have a GT version. I think there was a Lotus Twin Cam model later on. Don't think I have ever seen any that weren't white. Non existant on the streets now, but I will find a photo I just thought of.
Nah, that's the wrong model. The three way split tail lights were the key. Lost track of my Cortinas / Escorts - my first car was a 1973 MK 1 Escort I bought from my Mum. After the 3 way split tail light models of Cortina, I have forgotten them until they looked like mini Falcons, maybe mid 70s
Yes ET 64, the year Midget won, the world title banner is the giveaway, (and the year Linda Benson was ripped off).
That's the original Millers Pacific pub, it rusted away and was replaced by the Manly Pacific, (I think the Manly Pacific was owned by that guy who did a stretch for killing his missus, Andrew Kalejic or a similar name).
This site has a lot of old surf buggies in it, but I don't have the time to take them out one by one, any takers?
