What a joke! Ya gotta laugh.
Hope they report every time someone drops in and gets hit by a surf craft

surprised it hasn't hit a current affair or today tonight - its a national scandal.

Whilst I don't know exactly what happened it looks to me she clearly dropped in on him. I wonder if she read the surf etiqutte book whilst waiting in the emergency room.
Unfortunately for 98% of SUP riders there are 2% giving us a bad reputation. My advice to the 98% is that if you see another SUPer doing the wrong thing then let them know (politely) so the silent majority don't have to suffer because of a few clueless kooks.

What a rubbish agenda driven article! Dont see any pics and stories on the learning to surf backpacker hordes who flock en masse to Byron causing carnage out in packed breaks. Way more dangerous than a SUP any day.

Actually the article says he was paddling out, so she didn't drop in.

Surfers in general need to be very careful for what they ask for. Lock out paddle boarders what next, long boards or even short boards.

They could end up with Boogie boards or foamy only breaks..

I'm considering a SUP because its getting to hard to catch waves with 50 or so people out on one wave. So i figure I'll go politely but i will get a advantage over everyone else.

This is getting a bit old, I think this has been discussed a few times in the last couple of months.

Over the weekend I was hit three time by Kooks on shortboards and Mals. I was Dropped in on about five times and snaked three times. I only returned the favour once to the guy who snaked me and did exactly the same to the Mal Rider who paddled in front of me whilst I was paddling for a wave. He knew what he'd done so there was no real aggro.[}:)] If you can't work it out in the water without whingeing or violence then take up a team sport where you can get hurt without having to go to the media and other people such as coaches can point out bad behaviour. Who was she the editor's daughter? That's the way it usually works in the media.
PS. Who care's what "Ankles" Greenough says. Somebody teach him how to stand up for God's sake!!!

I was hit twice at Lennox on the weekend, both by kids under 15yo on shortboards.
One really hurt, still limping. Both the kids ripped but their judgment wasn't there.

Another guy during the same session went in with a bad gash to his ear after
being hit as well. But he knew the guy so it didn't end up in the papers!

If it's controversial they will print it!
