I went for one today around 1:00pm from Bilinga SLSC to Nth Burleigh rocks
= 11km I was on the 17'6'' Bullet haven't paddled this board since last years Molokai Race I gave Simon from Dolphin a 20 minute head start as he was on a Deep 12'6''. There was a lot of East in the swell though spew but got some fun 50 metre runners. When I hit Currumbin beach I could see the Windsurfers and this lone SUP paddler about 1.5k ahead I'm thinking thats got to be Simon so I'm trying to mow Simon down I caught him around Burleigh Heads and it wasn't Simon it was Mike Manning I haven't seen Mike for Bulk so I stopped. We had a bit of a chat and said I was on my way to Miami. I seen Mike pull into Nth Burleigh Mike I would have gave you a lift back to your car plus it would have been good to have a chat. The paddle took me 59 minutes took Simon 70 minutes thats bulk fast for a 12'6''.

plus I've just got home from Woody's factory Woody just shaped me a 8'4'' Double Flyer Swallow Tail for Namotu Lefts stoked

Dale, Lacey and I are doing a quick Currumbin SLC to Burleigh. Its nearly 30 knots at the seaway so it should be good. Meeting at 10.30 at Burleigh...

Looks pretty East for that run at the moment, looks like a snapper to currumbin run could be a better option

umm, yep

I guess that's why I like a rudder system so much - the conditions don't have to be perfect downwind to still have a good run. Iron Phil and I were having a blast on that run yesterday. There were some nice ones to be had.

Like you said I'd hate not to have a rudder. Give me a rudder system any day also.
Thats a great straight run From Bilinga SLSC to North Burleigh rock so I paddle in at Miami SLSC plus its easier to get a car park there.
plus its great to work on your time/speed doing that straight run.

Today was a better Downwind day. But I had to go to work. I spoke with some of the Uncle Toby's ironman weapons they said they were flying out there with big grins on there faces.

Real Good today. Went with Jacko from Snapper to the Alley. Did a 5 min 30 kilometer near Tugun which is about as fast as I've gone around here. Jacko would've been doing under 5 mins per kilometer I reckon if he wasn't waiting for me.

ouch, that was really hard on the 15'3 that,s pretty skinny with chines. hadn't fallen off all week, but i made up for it today. i've never been so farrrrrrrr back on this board and it just gets narrower and tippier, but got some blinding runs and links.

however, i fought the board and the board won.

now here's the wacko laceys bit. i keep dreaming of double ama's- small, just touching the water and the fronts turned up and i would have to retro fit steering on the board.
on a day like today the only thing holding back is i'm trying to hang on, if i had the narrower board stablized i could really give it some stick the whole time.

keep in mind this board is not designed for these conditions

the boards proving hard to sell so maybe

the baggings will come i'm sure

Yes, today was another really good run. It's 4 hits since Saturday for me now in varying conditions. I must say that my DC14 x 28 wide felt really good in all 4 runs. I am pretty happy with this board and absolutely love a rudder system. There were 4 boards out today ranging from 12'6" to 15'3. The 14' seems like a good option for our waters on the GC.
