Hi all we are planning a trip to san sabastin spain in august, has anyone been or know if i can rent a smaller sup board there or is its easy enough to take my own. any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks mary

May be worth checking out Zarautz as well, there are surf shops on the beach. It's a pretty good beach break. I saw a guy surfing on a sup, first one I'd ever seen, whilst surfing at Zarautz Beach (on a longboard) when we were there in 2006, which prompted me to buy my own sup the following year.
I would imagine that the surf shops would have sups now.
An Aussie guy has a surf shop in the famous surf town of Mundaka, well worth the trip if you're going to San Sebastian. It's only approx 100 kms from San Sebastian, although could take 2 hours if you go the coast road, 'cause of the numerous twisting little roads through the hills, but you'll see plenty of "playas lindas" with surf potential.
I emailed him last year & he has sups in his shop.

San Sebastian Spain is only 44km from Biarritz France, a huge surfing community with everything available... get a French visa... lots of world class breaks between the two.
