have discovered one of my boards to be soaked with water which i think has entered through the handle recess.
has had it sitting upside down in the sun trying to dry it out and then look at getting it repaired.my question is has anyone been successful in repairing a saturated board or should i turn it into a coffee table. cheers in advance.By the way , cracking day for bass coast sups today.
Drill a 1/4" hole in the nose, two if you have a stringer, then stand it up on its end, nose down for a few weeks. a bit of paper on the floor will show the water as it seeps out. weigh the board before you start, then after a week and you can track if it's losing weight / water.
Fill the holes and leak before getting wet again ??

Is it just in the handle or through the entire board, I had a couple of Fanatics where water got into the handle recess only. Driled a hole on either side of the handle and filled it with expanding foam and all was well once again.
Weigth your board, to have an estimate of a amount of water that entered.
Also try to open holes around the handle to ease the drying.
If you got a lot of water for a long time in the blank, it will be nearly impossible to get it out all again. If the leak is recent and act quickly, it may be possible.

And ponder the conclusion: " While substantially faster than any of the above methods, vacuum-drying can take months, if the water had a chance to migrate into the EPS beads: a Northshore Maui board with over 6 pounds of water in the core for half a year, took 5 months to shed 5 1/2 pounds. Don't wait!!".
Buying a new board may be cheaper than buying a vacuum pump and the electricity needed to run it for 6 months (plus the noise...)

Have drilled a hole in the bottom of the sup and turned it on its end.water almost immediately started to drip from the hole and has been dripping for hours.Does not look good.will just leave it like that for a couple of weeks and then take it to the shaper.
i had one,fully soaked inside too,i left it in a hot spot for 2 months ,before fixing
the sun might make it bubble .i don't feel it was full dried out.
just as well i have 2 Sups .
so i could still paddle.
