Thanks for sharing, did look like it would be a fair paddle back out.
Question, how do the powers to be determine the location of N.S.W titles.
In my mind you could find more than a dozen point or reef breaks around that area alone.

Good stuff Jezza.

Not too many reefs or points that I know in Port Stephens area that I know of - locals would know better though. Some of the waves were very good actually, plus any decent point would be packed.

You're right Goatie. Absolutely no surfable reefs in a big southerly swell. We really suffer in a south swell as it misses the Point.Put a bit of East or better North and as Dogman would say Yeeeww!

Ok I agree. I didn't quite mean just around the corner.
Between Newcastle and forster you will find points and the odd reef(rock shelf).
My main thought ( and I'm not having a go at any one person) is we should be holding events in areas that are ideal not less than ideal, this means geographicaly as well. Yes Port Stephens is fairly central for nsw but travel another 1 hr up the pacific hwy and you have points and beaches that face totally north to almost south and at this time of year arn't that crowded.
Try Boomerang beach area next year you will have alternatives if big from south, or north
I may live in vic now but did live and surf the hunter and mid north coast for many years.

You guys were lucky to get some size I'm happy for you

Well done to Beau n all the Boys. I'm still spewing up salt water from the 14 min thrashing I copped In the final. I swore to myself after the 1000 wave crashed on my thick skull I was going to give up suping for good lol. But overall awesome event. For those who couldn't make it u missed some epic suping.

A big thanks to dan (dtm) for trying to fix up my Sup before the final. I used all of dogys solarrez n a whole roll of tape. It didn't work. Lol.

See u guys around.
