well here ya go you animals

my latest stick

dont exactly know the dimentions as tully just went with what he thought might float my human pie eating machine

i can only compare it to my ye old 9'3 x 29 1/2 and so it is about 1 1/2 inchs shorter in length and the same 1 1/2 inches narrower so 9'1? x 28"

and has alot less litres in the float department which has made it interesting with the 20 to 25 knt southerlys that ive had it out in lately

lacey
it has the wide point pulled back past the middle of the board which makes for a wide tail and a nice rail curve exiting into a diamond tail which is thinned out heavily in thickness and has a very aggressive looking single into heavy double concave bottom with plenty of rocker

when i first laid eyes on the tail my first impression was what the f@ck is that thing

tully had said would i mind if he could throw one on it as he was keen to see if it would drive hard but yet be loose so i went with it

casso
it sort of looks and feels like the 9'6 pilot oxbow with its rolled deck and diamond tail (but not)

first few surfs were in solid 4 to 5 ft wally rights strong wind with semi clean faces

after a couple of wobbly moments the board came to life and was so fast from rail to rail.....lol........after messing around with the back fin placement in the box i came to the conclusion

that for me in waves over 3 ft i was pushing the fin as far back as it would go and it would drive hard

cant wait to get it in some clean open faces and throw it on a rail

and under 3 ft like on the vid i had it about half way in the box which made it super loose for me (which im not a big fan of the "slip and slide" hooooharrrrrr)

cant say to much more other than im stoked that the board is performing well and hasnt fallen to pieces yet

im now swimming in a puddle of drool and spit so while i get a mop and bucket to clean myself up check out a few piccies of THE GREEN HORNET and my grommet sabian "the god of rock"

ahh S###. i've just changed my mind after having a go on the naish 8'4 and was going to pull the newie in the after mid rail and tail area. now i'm confused. quick rail to rail hey. somebody donate some money so i can one of each please
still see your riding the middle shoulder
nah, just kidding- looks good. i reckon you will break the 9' mark easy if you make a huge commitment to just 25 pies/day

cheers and all

Love it Dogman! I am guessing Tully hasn't changed the rocker too much, I notice he has sort of 'shortened' the nose in the last few inches to keep some area up there.

I just did this in photoshop (cause I have no life) to compare the two (although this is my first one with the wider tail.

Hey Lacey def pull the tail in for quicker rail to rail and riding hollow stuff - I reckon.

Nice job Goatie..what the specs on your board. ? and Dogman looks like you have been wearing your work boots when you surf.

Mate, since you had SO MANY days riding the Naish.

Care to comment how the 2 boards compare-differences and similarities?

Tail is similar to the 903 PSH.

Sorry to hijack slightly, but to answer your question Rob, mine is 8'9" x 28" x 4 "
about 105 -110 litres I would guess.

Cool board Dogman! Just out of interest how much do you weigh and what thickness is the board at a guess? Cheers.

Last time I saw Dogman he was about 150kg's with a pie in each hand I reckon his board would only be 10 litres more than Goaties (if that) but he rides it no worries in fact he rips it. So maybe overall litres isn't as critical as everyone makes out , all my boards are under litred for my 90 kegs.

Dogman is 10 kegs heavier than me I think so he must be fairly under water I reckon. I swapped with Casso (the DC 8'8") the other day (we are both 82-3 kg) and his seemed more bouyant and stable than mine.

A quick heads up,
At Noosa today, sand has filled in the bay of Johnsons and First Point. Its breaking out in the middle in front of the Surf Club then filling up to nothing.

If no big swell turns up to move things around probably think about alternate venue,River Mouth.

Unreal board and great Vid.

haha so true, yeh about 150kg with pies in hand and rum in the gut.... but only if it's Piros's rum!!!!

alright, alright stop your yelling! the low down on the board

yes under me it is a submarine but not THAT bad!

I LOVE my 9'3 NAISH .............

....... but..............

I am IN LOVE with THE GREEN HORNET!

I have had my NAISH 9'3 for about 500 days and have ridden it at least 800 times, in every possible condition from 1/4 ft (First Point Noosa) to 10ft+ top to bottom barrels... (undisclosed location) and loved EVERY micro second of it! This board has been the most durable board, as apart from a few superficial paint chips from hacking the rails with my paddle like an axe wielding champion at the easter show on the right hand side and a few knees, elbows and helmet bumps, the board is clean.

I have only had The Green Hornet for about 2 weeks (surfed it at least 20 times, divorce proceedings have started , a life size cardboard cut out of me has been erected on the toilet for when the kids ask as apparently I have diro and have been there for 2 weeks) oh yeah and I have ridden it 1ft dribble to 4 to 5 ft bumpy and fat!

Comparing the 2 so early is difficult as I have yet to really see how the Green Hornet performs in more conditions.... in saying that though so far so good, and I am sooooooooooooo pumped about some big, sucky, clean waves!

The NAISH 9'3 has definately NOT been retired to my board cemetery.......... YET! lol

Not to take anything away from the NAISH 9' 3, BUT I have to say of course there are going to be MASSIVE differences between the two boards!

Tully and Co did awesome job, the design ideas have seriously blown me away

The whole board just works!!!

Anyway enough arse kissing of these 2 boards here r the differences so far:

overall rail outline and positioning of wide point and rocker line- definately faster rail to rail

extremely aggressive [}:)] single concave into double concave- picks up speed fast and grips awesome in turns

towed out side fins- overall performance setup

rear fin box with wider range of adjustment- have played around a bit with fin placement and loving the dramatic difference it is making to the board

lighter in weight

BUT damn no carry handle!! - lighter to carry but more awkward in the howling southerlies and lugging the board for long distances over rough terrain

green v's yellow- nice change sort of complements my seedy out dated 80's metal head appearance at 6am in the morning after a gig when i stroll in side ways from an all night bender and say hi to the kids having breakfast with dogmansbitch's "NOT HAPPY JAN" stare OF DEATH................lol...............

durabilty- not enough time to comment yet but feels extremely durable and my shins have come off second best on the rail a few times already

to be continued.................
