the best model 14' er in australia imo. the all new dc 14' ers

the best board i've ever ocean paddled.

dc 14' x 29" ocean board

one super duper 14' board. i paddled out through the alley- the rough section just past the break water easy. paddled as close as i could past the alley rocks. barely noticed the backwash- that's always a test of a board for me. i then paddled up to elephant rock. the board was flying -cut through chop and rode sideways over the swells coming in- not one correction stroke the entire way up. just fantastic stability so i wasn't troubled one bit. i turned around and proceded to get swell runners most of the way back with zero wind. got a really nice wave and rode it down towards laceys.

the 29" is that bit slicker and i noticed no less stability then the 30" version

i'm rapt.

i would recommend this board to any level paddler.

it's fast and stable and you can paddle properly and go for it. its the only board i will now paddle in the ocean

cheers

No sin in that my shorties consist of 6,2 square tail 6,3 channel 6,4 quad 6,5 round pin 6,8 pin.

So four boards around the same length but all very different boards yea Im into board design

actually, i've had no imput what so ever on this design

i tried the 30' model and the only thing i asked was it to be made at 29"

nothing else has been changed, probably why it's good

i just gave a review and my opinion.

it would be nice if there was more focus on the board itself
cheers

Hey Lacey I don't know much about flat/ocean water boards but that is one sweet looking stick. Stoked for you that it lives up to it's looks. No better feeling than the buzz from taking a new board out for the first time and it lives up to or exceeds your expectations and dreams

How do you think it will go as a downwind board? Will the nose be able to lift itself up if submerged? And what is the weight?

Nice finished board Lacey! Is it the picture or does it have more nose rocker then usual? It looks like it extends 1/4 down the board with a very little flat section through the midsection. It would be good to hear somemore reports on how this board runs in the future.

no, i don't think so dj. the 15'3 has it's measure. it's very good speed wise. but it's a ocean board - 29'"wide. you know as soon as i got to the creek mouth it was almost like a switch was turned on.

i'm a fan of the jav, but there is no way you could paddled the jav like this out there. i think there will be a trend for more stable ocean boards over flatout speed.

hi, i've done downwinders on the 30". the blend of volume and width up their seem perfect to me.i was asked/ told let keep the nose width the same even thou the board was reduced in width. it does actually go to round to flat quickly. can go through the bump in front, but doesn't submerge to often, come up pretty clean when it does. seemed to run pretty even, more seperates the water/ bump, that was one the best features for me. i would go big or small on this board. i'm generally positioned about 5" behind the handle. when i got the connections moved back a bit more. weight about 11.3 kgs

i think its the photo a bit. also its a reasonable volumed board, so when no ones on it you might just be seeing more of the board

I had a paddle on it this morning in the creek at training. I was alternating with the 15' that blows everyones minds.

Sure it was a touch (and only a touch) slower in flat water but far more stable and comfortable to paddle. Even in the flat the 15 can be wobbly, this 14 had no moment of instability which means in the bumpy stuff would end up way faster. Just as someone said, a boards not real fast if you are swimming beside it.

How good is it that boards are trending wider and stable rather than becoming impossible to stand on.

I'm quite confident of whipping the pair of you on the 12.6 but it hardly seems fair to put you both through that. I'll race both of you at the same time but you can only claim the win if you BOTH beat me [}:)]
