SPX 8'7 ,is ok ,I wish I had of gone the next size up ,8.7 there isn't a lot of board ,where i miss out is on getting the 8,7 is, it narrows down the paddle speed quite a lot and me being 100 kgs with a full wetsuit at the mo,it takes a bit to get it up and going
but summer is coming and wetsuits is out the door ,I have found I have had to put bigger fins on compared to my other boards
as its that bloody loose it is hard to paddle straight ,I'm actually using large twin fins and medium rears ,it hasn't really effected the looseness at all ,its made it a bit more stabile to paddle and not so twitchy ,it really is a full performance board for me and am not getting any younger ,but totally enjoy it on clean days ,i love it some days then other days it tires me out ,it feels more like a 8,5 .
I am not really a fan of the extra volume added at times ...as it feels corky ,i don't mind a sinking board ,as to me it feels more stabile as the water holds it down and washes over rather than hitting it and rocking it around ,but I under stand the concept for pro level ,getting on the waves easier and getting out quicker ,once on a wave you don't notice the extra volume and it does pop out of white wash so easy compared to my lower volume boards ,so plus's and minuses really ,still a great board ,its just me getting old ..

hows your 8'8 SP going ?
