tried a smaller board yesterday. thankx again simon.

JL 10'4 x 28 not sure of the vol, but much less than my naish 11'6.

tipping the scales somewhere between 90-95...thought i was going to be on my arse ALL the time,, but suprised my self and managed to stand up , bit of a wobble at first, but didn't take too long to settle and catch a couple of waves...

NEED a smaller board now and the fun Poilce are saying NO ha ha ha

WM ... mate go for it, get one. Am on a 10'8 x 28 1/2 x 4 1/4 and have learnt on that. BTW ... I am a "robust" 110kg .... Perhaps the start was a little harder than it needed to be if I had gone with a bigger board but now that I am up and going, am so stoked I hung in there and went with the shorter board. JW

spot on fellas. if surfing is your thing, go small especially if you sup in mostly glassy conditions. i ride a 9'6" now and i am a fat ass 90kg. sure i could loose weight but i love pizza and wild turkey.....

Hey Jw, are you from surfing background? I am a surfer first and sup second, although i am loving it and are surfing my 11 6" pretty good , considering i have only had it a week.
I am around your weight and thinking of getting a smaller board soon, as i spend 95% of time in surf, i can still keep the 11 6" as a second board for my girl, was thinking of a 10 4" or something any suggestions fellas ?

Yeah Brooko, definitely surfing background. Have put a pic in the gallery of my board. My advice is just look at the volume, am thinking width and thickness is the key. JW

hey scotty, what board you on??????

i could go down to 9.5 to 10.5,,, i think the key is the width in the paddle area,,tapering down to a nice small tail with thin rails.....liking the look of starboard fishs at 30'' wide.

simons board was the biz, chalk n cheeze compared with my naish...cuts the wave real good and nice tightish turns...

wouldn't have cut it today at metts though, lost count of the waves i scored on the mello yello, in the FAT onshore conditions...

Theres nothing wrong with being mellow yellow Miller
If only you could keep that board for a summer board.
I will keep mine but reckon the next board would definately be the 9'8 Starboard.
I figure if the waves are too big for my 11'2, or even SUPing at all, then Id rather be on my shortboard

Hi 1 Kg=2.2lbs therefore 200lbs=91kg approx.

also interestingly or maybe not 1 litre of volume floats 1kg of mass.
obviously this is subject to debate as I have tried to sink a 1litre block of
polystyrene in my sink by adding weights and came to a figure more like 1.6kgs.
OH dear i'm so sad ha ha ha
