I agree Tassie would be great but I've seen the West coast and I think the East coast would be a better option.

Warm water would also be a good option..Maybe sharing waves with friends or paddling glassy water with dolphins.

a few come to mind .... outside corner at ulu's and dreamland ..... both would let you in so easy ..... and want to see what happens on a sup when you hit the shorebreak at dreamlands

Lord Howe Island - I haven't SUP'ed it, but I'm sure anybody else who has been there will agree with me that it would be absolutely ideal.

HOLY SH1T MILLER! When are we going there?

When it's too windy and choppy in the ocean, this is a great spot to paddle. Bridgewater Lakes, Western Victoria.

I've had a good think about this and my spot for a long distance open ocean paddle is close to home in Victoria. I'm aiming for a paddle from Walkerville South to Bear Creek on a hot and glassy summer day - the conditions need to be spot on when it happens. The access to the beach is good at both points and I believe it's about 8k of the most rugged, lonely, and unspoilt coast lines you are likely to see in Victoria.

This would be the starting point at Bird Rock. The backdrop to this coastline is Wilsons Prom that you can see on the other side of Waratah bay.



For surfing, there are so many places, but it's so tied to having the right conditions. At the moment I can't go past Crunchies at Point Leo for consistent good w/e sup conditions, I hope it's good tomorrow. Love the spot.

So you would have one one of the half dozen or so SUPs littering that stretch of coast today? There were a couple of guys at Pt Leo. One at the Pines. There was even a lone guy down past the Blow Hole past Flinders.

Of course I broke the cardinal rule. I had surfboard and kitesurf gear but no SUP. A bit to windy to be bothered surfing and not enough wind on the bayside to go kiting.
