but awesome days.

paddle training this morning 5.45 am i was wearing my ice breaker thermals pants- ski boot type that stop above the ankles, boardies, booties- which didn't do a thing.

up top a long sleeve breathing skiffy thing and my mont polartec vest which worked real well because it costs a bucket, but it breaths and a beanie.
i couldn't feel my hands on the paddle shaft, everybodies eyes were watering and the feet were just two blocks of something on the ends of our ankles.
that teatrea lunatic had boardies and short sleeve rashie on

i take my hats off to everyone in the southern states.

by 10 am, you can trot around with no shirt on

Whats up with you Lacy - scotty and I surfed the alley this morning at 6am in boardies/rashy

Yeah Lacey that was one very cold morning,
But I couldn't think of any other way I rather start the day though even if I couldn't feel my feet till the sun thawed them out around 9am
So impressed to see 14 or 15 people so keen to get into it in the dark and cold, and everyone has improved so much in the last couple of weeks, especially the likes of Teatree and Scotty

Don't they call it the Sunshine State ????
"Queensland one day, perfect the next" was the slogan I recall.
Makes me feel a bit better south of the border.

Didnt think i would enjoy the trainig as much as i have , learning heaps. Id just like to get to the stage where i can keep up with that nephew of mine , for a few strokes at least At least he hasnt beat me in a surf comp yet , or an arm wrestle I think im hanging on by a thread though!

Coming from Vic' you would get away with boardies and a 2mm long sleeve jacket.
Not everyone's soft like laceyI've gone many a winter as above.

Oh the the swell is looking epic. 0-1 footbut there are some wave magnets around which always ad another foot
