I am looking for a life/buoyancy vest suitable for distance paddles and down-winding which doesn't impede on paddling. Has anybody got any recommendations???

The Ultra Pinacle DJ suggested is great and another great vest is the

Mission Quest X00083 larger arm holes again and less fabric, bladder pocket and just enough pockets.

Most of us here use this one... http://www.ultrapfd.com.au/default.asp?PageID=62 .. It also has a pocket in the back for a drink bladder.

Make sure you get the largest size because the shoulder straps are longer allowing you to wear it lower so it's not up under your armpits.

+ 1 DJ . About 3 of us blokes bought these and they are excellent. The bladder is great to for the additional Hydration.
